Leadership
Meeting February 12, 2005
President Bob Yarbrough initiated "leadership meetings" to be attended by association officers, club officers and active volunteers in the association.
The regular quarterly business meetings are by necessity very structured - officer reports are given, old business is concluded, and new business is introduced. This leaves little opportunity to discuss issues in-depth.
Unlike the quarterly business meetings, the leadership meetings are more open and the focus is on strategic planning. There is no formal agenda. Officers and clubs do not give reports. Most of the normal meeting protocols are dispensed with.

Leadership meetings are held once or twice per year, hosted by a a member club. The meeting format is more round-robin in that everyone gets a chance to bring up issues and discuss them. We're not bound to come to closure, especially since we tend to discuss long-term issues.
Leadership meetings are designed to communicate between the Board of Directors
and the Club Presidents, but in no way is restricted to only these members.
Anyone having an interest in the leadership, direction, and discussions of SFWDA
is welcome to attend.

We usually also serve food and just stand around and mingle and talk in small individual groups.
Thank you very much to Jay Bird and the Georgia Bounty Runners for hosting
the meeting at the Bird farm in north Georgia!
