Anderson
Creek OHV Area
The Anderson Creek OHV Area is located in north Georgia, in the Chattahoochee
National Forest. It is just northwest of Amicalola Falls State Park.
The US Forest
Service has completed their Environmental Assessment on the Anderson
Creek Trail System. They have developed 3 “Alternatives”. They plan on
selecting Alternative #2 which would close all of the trails
permanently. We are asking them to select Alternative #3. This would
re-design the trails and add a couple of miles in order to have loop
trails. Please look at the
Friends of Anderson Creek Comment Letter as a reference and write a
similar letter before January 30th, 2008. Thanks !

515. Polk said the new complex will coordinate all Forest Service activities
on the Chattahoochee National Forest lands in Lumpkin, Union, Towns, Dawson
and those lands east of Highway 515 in Fannin and Gilmer counties.

Needless to say, we do not agree with this proposal, especially considering
all the promises and plans made by the Forest Service in the past.
In response to the request for public input, we wrote a number of letters,
one of which is shown below:
