Tellico Season Passes
Thursday, April 10, 2003
I'm not sure if you are aware of the change we've recently made in the season
permits for Tellico, but due to the large number of people who have come in
to get season permits who are not aware of the new requirements I would greatly
appreciate if you could get this information out within your organization. The
new procedures for the season permits are as follows:
- Season permits are now valid only from April 1 through December 31 each
year.
- The permits are only available on or after April 1 each year.
- Obviously, season passes are not valid from January 1 through March 31 each
year. During this period of time only daily permits will be used and the cost
for daily passes beginning next January 1 will be $10/day instead of $5/day.
During the rest of the year (April 1 through December 31) daily passes will
be $5/day.
- Season permits already purchased in January, February and March of this
year will be honored through their current expiration date.
- Season permits will now be a laminated card (similar to a drivers license)
and will be issued to an individual. Individuals purchasing these permits
must have their address, date of birth, and drivers license number with them
in order to buy one. Underage people or those who don't have a drivers license
will still need their date of birth and then we will write in that they are
underage in the section where the license number goes. When using the area,
the season permit holder that the card is issued to must be the one in/on
the vehicle. (In other words you can't "loan" your permit to someone
else to use in the area.) Law enforcement can and will check drivers license
as well as the season permit to make sure the person identified matches on
both. This will enable the permit holder to use the permit for different vehicles.
Please help us get this word out to as many folks as possible. If you have
questions please don't hesitate to call us at 828-837-5152. Thanks.
