Southern 4WD Association Work Weekend Picture
Horace Nowling wielding the hammer and Ernie West is the holder of the rebar. I
hope you didn't miss, Horace. Hammering the rebar was a lot harder than it
looks. The ground is very hard and rocky and the rebar is a full four feet
long. Also, the drill bit made holes that were just barely big enough to hammer
the rebar through if you used a lot of force. Shawn Milner is operating the
drill. Railroad ties do not lend themselves well to drilling due to the fact
that they are very dense wood soaked with tar. One tie weighs about 150-200
lbs.
