The Friends Of Uwharrie organization is now officially a Federal 501(c)(3) with an effective date of exemption of November 7, 2012!
FOU is designated as a public charity, 170(b) (1) (A) (vi). As such, FOU is exempt from Federal income tax and and contributions to FOU are deductible under section 170 if the IRS code. FOU is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises transfers and gifts.
