The Southern Four Wheel Drive Association Board of Directors continues its hard work to refocus our association and our efforts for 2015. As most of you are aware, the association is implementing sweeping changes to the membership structure. Additionally we introduced the SFWDA Grant program to allow each of our member clubs to directly address the needs of your local area and communities with this tool. The key to our grant program is that we embrace our core missions of Conservation, Recreation and Education.
This past week several SFWDA volunteers met with the National Forest Service Ranger and Engineering Manager representative; Valencia Morris regarding the design and construction parameters in building new trails at Beasley Knob OHV area.
Dixie Run is all about riding the trails with family and soaking in the intense atmosphere. This the 28th year now for this event which continues to be successfully organized by loyal and dedicated volunteers who all work together to make this an enjoyable event members of SFWDA as well as fellow enthusiasts alike.
Here is my personal take as an example of some of the great spots and beautiful scenery we were able to enjoy on this Scenic Vistas and Waterfalls Excursion Tour.
As we prepare for our SFWDA Annual Leadership meeting on December 6, 2014 at the DoubleTree Hotel, Oak Ridge, TN, we are preparing this overview of the changes in our membership structures so our exiting clubs can plan for the New Year. The Board of Directors reviewed at the September 22, 2014 on-line meeting a number of technical issues and design issues. We have agreed to focus our new membership energies using an integrated tool that allows us to manage the association membership, all events and SFWDA communications. Membee (www.membee.com) is a web-based solution for membership based organizations.
